Orchard Cottage, Cardiff

The transformation of this fragmented rural property involved a series of small additions within an overarching master plan. The rest of the house was also renovated to ensure a consistent level of finish throughout. An expanded kitchen extension was constructed, extending out into the garden. Large sliding doors facing the garden open up the space to the scenic countryside beyond. The supporting goalpost frame is clad in stainless steel, giving it a polished appearance. Overhead, a strip roof window directs atural light into the dining area.On the first floor, a glass box was added to accommodate the en-suite for the master bedroom. Thoughtful selection of mirrored glass preserves privacy, and a glass roof above the freestanding bath allows for stargazing at the night sky.
